Raising awareness for global warming is a hot topic issue these days. And in the spirit of global warming I wanted to share an inside look at one of my favorite photographers. His name is James Balog, and he’s been working on environmental awareness for the past thirty years and consistently pushing the boundaries of images & the equipment used to produce them. His latest project, Extreme Ice Survey (EIS for short), is using photography to document the global problem of polar ice melting. According to the timeline their halfway through the project and the images coming from them are absolutely spectacular. I hope all of you enjoy the images and please do your part in helping the environment. Here are some stunning sites to read about the project and James Balog: Extreme Ice Survey, Stunning Nikon, Strobist (his assistant tells all), PDN Online Master Series.
