So, just to entice the early lookers with some of the things they might see, here is one of my favorite photos. I took it on a trip to California back in 2002 (I think). I was cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway in the Big Sur area when I noticed a small footpath going up from the road. So… I pulled over the car, grabbed the 4×5 camera and started trekking into the woods. The path meandered along a creek running down the mountain, and at the very end I was greeted with this beautiful view looking up towards a bunch of redwoods. So, I sat the tripod in the creek and began setting up this shot.

  1. It’s gorgeous, & reminds me of what it’s like up a fold in a mountain on the farm I grew up on in south east Queensland, Australia – especially after rain, that’s the only time water runs down it. Apparently it is part of an extinct volcano!
